Testimonials
Most recently I had purchased your brine shrimp and freeze dried plankton from my local aquarium store. All I have to say is that your company by far has the best fish foods for my fish. I own a cichlid tank and have noticed since feeding them your foods they have grown a large amount with the inclusion of colour. from now on I will recommend these foods to all of my friends who own aquariums and I will be purchasing more of your product in the future.

How to feed frozen fish food

Frozen Cubes*
Drop cube(s) in aquarium while still frozen. The cube(s) will float for 6-8 seconds and then begin to sink and break apart allowing fish to feed at their natural levels. Feed often, but only what your fish will consume
in three minutes. Remove any uneaten food. Never overfeed. Keep unused cubes in your freezer.

Frozen Flat Packs*
Break or cut small portions and thaw in cup, then pour in aquarium. Feed no more than fish can consume in 3 minutes. Never overfeed. Remove any uneaten food. Keep unused portion in your freezer.

*Important
Microwaving or thawing in hot water is not recommended, as this breaks down the nutrients contained in frozen fish food.

What to do if frozen fish food thaws

Use of frozen fish food that has thawed
You may safely refreeze some foods that still contain ice crystals and are cold to the touch or if they have been kept below 45 degrees F for no more than 2 hours. If the temperature is above 45 degrees F, THROW IT OUT!

Treat completely thawed foods as follows
These foods are perishable. Do not refreeze thawed fish food. Spoilage may begin before bad odors develop and may be toxic. Refreeze fish food only if ice crystals remain throughout the package. If you question the condition, THROW IT OUT!

Don't use if odor is offensive or if the freezer temperature has exceeded 45 degrees F for 2 hours or longer, THROW IT OUT!

Use common sense: If any foods have an offensive or questionable odor, DO NOT feed them to your fish.

How to feed freeze dried foods

Feed twice daily, but only what your fish will consume in 3 minutes. Remove any uneaten food.

Krill and Plankton
Presoak before using.

Tubifex Worms
Press cube of worms firmly against front glass below the water at desired feeding level.

How to feed Seaweed Salad™

Tear or cut off a piece of Sally’s Seaweed Salad™ approximately 3 inches by 3 inches (for an average stocked 30 gallon aquarium) using a vegetable clip, place inside your aquarium in an area easily accessible for your fish. Your fish will “graze” at their leisure. Remove all uneaten seaweed after 6-8 hours.

Vitamins & Supplements

San Francisco Bay Brand® freeze dried fish foods can be used to soak up liquid vitamins, supplements or medications for easy administration.

How to hatch brine shrimp eggs

Into a container add 1 quart (1 liter) of water, add 1 teaspoon of brine shrimp eggs, plug in air pump to start aeration, add 2 tablespoons of aquarium (rock) salt and keep aeration on. Keep temperatures between 80-82 degrees F (26-28 degrees C), maintain a pH of 8.0 or above and eggs should hatch in 24-36 hours. After eggs hatch turn off aeration, direct a light source at the bottom of the container, wait 5-10 minutes for shells to float to top and baby shrimp to swim to bottom. Remove airline at pump end, then lower airline and siphon into fine net. Rinse shrimp under fresh water, then feed to your fish.
